Britney Spears names her baby son

Pop singer Britney Spears and her husband Kevin Federline have reportedly chosen a name for their newborn son.

According to People magazine, Spears, who gave birth last week at a Los Angeles hospital, has chosen the name Sutton Pierce for her second son.

The baby will now have the same initials as his older brother Sean Preston, who turned one-year-old last week.

Spears' representatives have not yet confirmed the baby's name.

Britney Spears gives birth to second child

Pop singer Britney Spears has given birth to her second child, a baby boy, according to US media reports.

People magazine reported that the baby boy was born at a Los Angeles hospital shortly before 2am on Tuesday. The singer had been scheduled to have a Caesarean section.

Spears and husband Kevin Federline already have a son called Sean Preston, who is due to turn one later this week.

The singer's representatives have not yet confirmed the widespread reports of the birth of the couple's second son.

Britney Spears' sandwich being auctioned

A sandwich which was half-eaten by pop singer Britney Spears is being sold on auction website eBay.

The sandwich is being sold by a waiter who served the star and her husband Kevin Federline at a recent function. Federline's partially eaten corn dog is also being auctioned.

In the posting which appears on the website, the seller says: "The sandwich is an egg salad sandwich with tomato and lettuce on wheat bread. Britney ate the other half, and had a few bites of this half before being done with it."

"In situations like this, we're expected to do the usual catering thing, pick up plates after they are done... It does not however say anything about how I am supposed to discard their food when they have me pick up their leftovers."

The sandwich and corn dog, which have already attracted a bid of over $100, have been vacuum sealed to prevent them from decaying.

Spears ad too hot for Tokyo subway

Tokyo's subway authorities have refused to allow the full poster of a naked and heavily pregnant Britney Spears appear in a metro station because it would be too stimulating for commuters.

The picture, in which a nude Spears covers her breasts with her arms and crosses her legs at the knee, featured in the August issue of Harpar's Baazar in the US and will be the cover of the Japanese edition in October.

A Tokyo transport official told Reuters: "We thought some of our customers would find it to be overly stimulating."

However a compromise was reached, with the ad for the magazine now masked below Spears' elbow and carrying the statement: "We apologise for hiding part of a beautiful image of a mother-to-be."

Magazine apologises over Spears story

The National Enquirer has apologised to pop singer Britney Spears after an article printed in the magazine claimed that her marriage to Kevin Federline was over.
Spears took a case against the Florida-based National Enquirer, over a story printed in the British and Irish editions of the magazine under the headlines '"Britney marriage is over!" and "Britney and Kevin: And now their divorce!".
A retraction and apology was printed in both editions of the magazine after the National Enquirer accepted that the story was "without foundation".
"We now accept that their marriage is not over and they are not getting divorced. These allegations are untrue and we now accept Britney's position that the statements are without foundation. We apologise for any distress caused," the apology read.
Spears, who is expecting her second child with husband Kevin Federline, did not ask for damages in the case.

Pregnant Spears poses nude for magazine

Pregnant pop singer Britney Spears has posed nude for the cover of the August issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine.
The star, who is six months pregnant, posed last week for the cover photograph, which is in the style of the famous Demi Moore Vanity Fair cover of 1991.
Harper's Bazaar magazine said that Spears, who has black hair in the photograph, "was never more beautiful" than when the shot was taken last week.
The magazine also said: "Since word leaked out about the shoot on Monday, people have been desperate to get their hands on the exclusive photos which were posted on various web sites without permission from the magazine."
Spears is expecting her second child with husband Kevin Federline. The couple already have a nine-month-old son called Sean Preston.

Britney comments on her marriage

Britney Spears has denied her marriage is in trouble and defended her parenting skills but said she was an "emotional wreck" because of the spotlight on her.
In an American TV interview, a tearful Spears insisted she was a good mother and claimed her relationship with Kevin Federline was "awesome".
Britney also dismissed media reports she had banished him to the basement and talked to NBC about her love for him.
"He helps me," she said. "He has to. I'm (an) emotional wreck right now."
The singer also commented on her parenting skills in the wake of the outcry when she was snapped driving with baby Sean Preston on her lap.
"I can't go anywhere without someone judging me," she said.
"I did it with my dad. I'd sit on his lap and I drive. We're country... I know I'm a good mom."
Spears said she thought the media had "crossed the line a little bit" in their treatment of her and said she feels like a target.
Last month, Spears announced she was pregnant with her second child.
